Umaid Bhawan Palace- India
The last of the great Rajasthani palaces, Umaid Bhawan was completed just before the sub-continent achieved independence and it is a lasting monument to the fusion of India and the Raj. Huge, imposing and majestic, its cupola is over 100 feet high and can be seen for miles around. Set in gorgeous Moghul gardens with gazebos, pools and fountains it is the ultimate in luxury living for both royalty and guests. It has an indoor swimming pool decorated with mosaic star signs and marble squash courts!
